It seems like the AP acknowledged their gay marriage was legit. As far as I know, gay marriage has not been legalized at the fed level and the issue is in the hand of high courts in MA. Is it just me or does anyone else find the term "HIS husband" a bit strange?

It's just you. I believe the gay community refers to that as homophobia. It seems that term is attached to anything that doesn't obviously promote the lifestyle choice.

Ah yes. "Homophobia." The mudball hurled at any who imply that the "gay" lifestyle is anything but gay. Suggest that homosexual relationships are more prone to violence, crime and disease, and you are a "homophobe." Challenge the claims of the "gay community" that they comprise 10% of the population--a ridiculously inflated number, by the way--and you are a "homophobe."

Homophobe and homophobia are smear labels like fascist, racist, anti-semitic, that, when used against an opponent, are meant to end any input that person might have in a reasonable discussion. "So you're an anti-semite, you have nothing worthwhile to say on the Holocaust." "You're a fascist, you have nothing valid to comment on freedom." "You're a racist. You are not inivited to our forum on civil rights." etc.

Have we forgotten that in 1983 Studds was formally censured by the House for having sex with a 17-year-old male page on a trip to Europe? He served in the House for another 14 years.
