The weekend TV programs are dominated by golf tournaments these days. Sometimes, 2 networks broadcast 2 separate tournaments on the same afternoon.

Can anyone explain why you'd watch golf on TV? I know golf is great to play, but watching it on TV is like watching the paint dry. It is so long and boring. You can take a nap without missing anything.

I never used to watch golf on TV either, in fact, I hated it! Now that I play more, I can watch it once and a while. I agree it can kind of be in the background, kind of like Nascar. However, its fun to see Tiger make amazing shots and I look for tips on my game. Maybe its one of those things that as I get older I don't need the fast paced sports as I used to. Although, I do admit channel surfing while I watch golf, especially when someone's up by a high margin.
