It's only OK to make fun of Jesus

I’m sure most of you know by now about the controversial set of Danish drawn political cartoons that have set the Muslim world on fire. These seemingly mild illustrations conveying Muhammad in various “blasphemous” positions have caused threats of 9/11 sequels and embassy burnings. The worst of these drawings are of the beloved Muslim leader harboring a bomb in his turban… Oh My! How dare someone poke fun at such a peaceful man, suggesting that perhaps this enlightened leader of the Muslim religion and blessed prophet of Allah be partial to violence and mass destruction! Leave it up to his followers to show that these allegations are indeed false by making violent threats of mass genocide. After all… their just peaceful farmers, right?


The sad part about all of this is that no American newspaper has had enough balls to publish one of these illustrations. With the exception of Philadelphia Inquirer editor Amanda Benett, who published one of the drawings along with a story about all the controversy (props), the only place you can find these horribly controversial cartoons is on the internet blogosphere.


The New York Times who published a picture of Mary the mother of Jesus covered in dung the day after it announced it would not be publishing the Danish drawings due to fear of controversy stated that they would report on it, but not show the cartoons because “That seems a reasonable choice for new organizations that usually refrain from gratuitous assaults on religious symbols.” What? O.K, so your telling me that most organizations will not publish assaults on religious symbols unless their Christian? It’s acceptable for Andres Serrano to publish a photograph of a crucified Christ submerged in piss in the Los Angeles Times and the Boston Globe and for a gay Jesus who has sex with his Apostles in “Corpus Christi” for “artistic expression” but It’s not O.K for the general public to be exposed to Muhammad sporting a bomb on his head.


It’s hard to say who’s being the weak stupid gazelle in the pack here. You could say it’s the media for not keeping with traditional American free speech by cowering at the throws of the U.S population of Muslims. You could also say it’s the Christian church for not stepping up and burning down a few buildings of their own, but then again, 85% of the American people say their Christian and of course we’re all peaceful people, It’s all in good fun… or something. Or you could blame the Muslims for getting so pissed off. Yet, history shows that Muhammad was, in fact, a violent conqueror who most likely would have sported a bomb in his turban had they been around in his time… you know, for a quick suicide explosion.


I was talking to a Christian woman today who was poking fun at the Muslim’s reaction to these political cartoons saying “I guess their not as peaceful as everybody likes to make them, you know Muhammad was a killer, right? The Muslims are a very violent people, this proves it.” She tried to tell me how the Christian religion was so much different, yet, I don’t see how. In the Old Testament the monotheistic Jews ran around killing women and children and conquering entire cities in the name of God, who in turn, killed a good number of his own people off on more than one occasion. And of course almost every conquest in history after the death of Jesus was carried out in the name of Christianity, the entire Aztec civilization for example. Either Christians need to start stepping up, newspapers need to start making fun of everybody, or the Muslims need to chill out. Perhaps the bottom line is left up to Bill O’Reilly who stated recently in the Gwinnett Daily Post “The difference might be that Christians are taught to turn the other cheek, while militant Muslims might react a bit differently. And The New York Times knows it.”

OK, TODAY:

Once again our Muslim friends have threatened violence in defense of the fact that they are, indeed, not violent. What? I'm not catholic and I'm not Christian, but, I am pissed off. What do you think?

My response to a well written piece is.....There is just far too much chaos, controversy, propoganda, Confusion,Hypocrisy and HATE circulating. AKA Global Madness. Where Did it all begin, Where will it End .

My guess is, it began when the first civilization came about and will end whenever the last civilization goes under.

Yet, hopefully, all the bad madness will instead turn into that delightfully eccentric madness found in small drinking towns.

Just great press for religion as a whole. This is exacty why I'm a Subgenius. Praise "Bob"!
The World Ends Tomorrow And You May Die!

you know william_mac, this morning i was informed that a ufo was sighted near the moon, causing the current orbiting space shuttle to delay it's landing. it was very dissapointing to me when i researched and found out that is was, in fact, not an alien ufo. it was a part of the vessel that somehow broke off, most likely from the cargo bay. or so the government says.

It was a damned alien UFO, I'm convinced. But, only because I wanted it to be an alien UFO.
